Mudflap

A mudflap or mud flap is a rectangle, on a truck, to prevent mud and wet grass from being thrown up onto the vehicle. While some flaps are the plain colour of rubber, many contain company logos or other art, or sometimes advertisements. One popular image is cartoon character Yosemite Sam with the words "Back Off!". Another is the mudflap girl, a silhouette of an appealing woman's shadow, nude or wearing very tight-fitting clothes or lingerie, sitting with her hair being blown back in the wind, as the air turbulence causes the mudflap to wave, similar to a flag that waves when in the presence of a resistive force.
